221 – Maximum
And that’s it for the “hangout at the LVL-OP” story arc.
Poor Clementine. Even though she’s been technically promoted as regular, she’s still a long way from being able to take her place.
For those who are wondering, Flore is at home, with Liliane and Laurence. It was quite weird to make such a long comic streak without having Flore being part of the main group, but remember her profile, Flore doesn’t care much for video games.

I like classic 3 characters limit, like in 7 and 8 FF. Four is a crowd, two is boring, and one is Lightning.
Now that I noticed hidden text, I need to specify – three is a nice limit for battles, and six is good for a whole cast.
Oh boy. We can never be friends RPG speaking. I think jRPGs were dead to me when a party of 3 became the standard.
You must be one of those FFVII kids.
Yeah, you’re completely right about me) Well, at least you buried the series well before it’s ultimate demise in form of FF XV. It was not a pleasant experience to be sure.
Fun fact, I played until (and including) XIII. IX is probably my favorite. It also had 4 characters, but the monster count suffered as a result. Damn PS1.
Best FF game was Crystal Chronicles on the Gamecube, and I will fight anyone to the death on this.
Brother!!
Yeah, 3-man parties feel so small. I started out on PC RPGs like Wizardry and Icewind Dale where 6 was the standard. 4 in Breath of Fire 2 on the snes was acceptable. 3 in PSX era was damn small, although it also started in some snes games, too.
the last remnant, that’s how a party should be.
What do you mean by Lightning?
Also nowadays with WoW and such, the party size maximum is pretty much open. But I have no preference myself, as long as the game makes you vary the size and the members every now and then.
Lightning is a main character in FF XIII and FF XIII: Lightning Returns. And in LR she’s the only character in party, switching between three specs (and costumes).
Oh, that’s just sad. It takes the R out of the RPG.
Mmorpgs are not jRPGs and will never replace them. ;)
True dat. MMO’s can never have stories as deep as RPGs.
I’m not so sure. Give it ten years. Maybe by then we’ll have algorithms that can generate stories for everyone playing an MMORPG. (Although frankly, most people playing MMORPG don’t seem to have the slightest interest in the RPG part.)
“Flore is at home, with Liliane and Flore.”
See mouse-over text here: http://frivolesque.com/archives/comic/150-name
It was already fixed when you posted this.
Also, the fact you found this old thing so quickly worries me.
I see, I got ninja’d. ^^
And I was so quick because a couple of months ago, when Laurence was visiting, I read through all her comics to get up to speed with her plotline and somehow the comic that introduced her name stuck in my mind. Probably also because it’s a round number, because just now I couldn’t remember my favorite one, 84.
I find it interesting that Flore and Marie-Lune have never been seen together at the same time… Hmmmm!
Secret identity? Flore leading a double life? But it would take an amazing pair of high heels to make up for the height difference.
Or are we talking whirl of sparkles transformation!?
If Gaia and talking frogs can exist in the Frivoverse, why not magical girls.
And the full capabilities of Flore’s mysterious wooden box have yet to be revealed. Plus we know that Flore would really, really, really like to be taller like Marie-Lune.
It might be unpopular opinion, but I really like FF IV, FF VI, and FF VIII.
For some reason I really love even numbered FF more than odd numbered ones.
I love me some FFVIII, the drawing out spells from monsters was a serious grind but I kinda liked the junctioning system.
Healing your teammate by slashing him with a gunblade was the best part in my opinion.
and Revive kills one shot kills zombies.
And this is how many hours into the party before she noticed Flore wasn’t there? Good to know everyone’s paying attention.
It’s even worse when you’ve been there for hours in plain sight and someone asks why you didn’t show up! (Checks mirror. Nope, still not invisible. :)
Been there, done that.
Go ahead and sit by Marie-Neige, Clementine. What could possibly go wrong? (Yes, I know you’re never supposed to ask that question.)
Everyone wants to see what would go wrong. XD
Poor Clem. You will always be a main party member in my book.
Clem is like the Hinata to M-N’s Boruto’s Dad back when Boruto’s Dad was only 12yo.
That’s a funny way of ordering words. :-)
It’s a meme where Naruto has become so unimportant that he is now only referred to as Boruto’s Dad.
No, I meant that the correct order would have been
“Clem is to M-N like Hina to Boruto’s Dad”, because otherwise it sounds like “the Dad of M-N’s Boruto”.
But it’s actually great to hear that Naruto is in the background now. I stopped watching the show after seeing a disappointing final fight and seeing that Boruto’s arc just continued the same old “Sharingan is OP” and “the next threat will be even bigger” instead of slowing down and letting the new kids have a Chuunin exam where they fought with all kinds of simple Jutsu.
But if Naruto’s in the background, where did the plot go now? Big danger or going easy?
I’ll pretend I understand this sentence, but I make it a habit of mine to only watch good anime. ;p
Then watch Sexy Commando. XD
I wanna know more about the woman with butterfly tattoos on the arm, in the background!! ^_^
Sure : http://frivolesque.com/archives/comic/212-contender
Thanks, I didn’t remember she had butterfly tattoos on her arm (silly me).
Her name is Noémie, she’s a long time friend of Frederic and Ben, and probably is on friendly terms with Chloe too (even though I didn’t make them interact together)
Maybe someone should have invited her, M-N.
