I’ll keep checking each week then, some of the comics I have in my favourites haven’t updated in over a year, I hope this doesn’t end up the case here.
I think I still have ones I check weekly that haven’t updated for 5 years.
I assume you kept them because you like to archive binge on some old favourite webcomics, but if you are hoping they will bring out new comics eventually, chances are, the same rule that applies to fanfiction also applies to webcomics “If it hasn’t been updated for more than two years, consider it dead”.
A large part, if I’m perfectly honest, is just that I rarely clean out my bookmarks. :P Though I do like to be reminded of good memories as well.
And if my some chance a new comic does come back, very likely there will only be a few new strips before it falls silent again forever.
I have noticed that happening on occasion.

Here’s hoping “before the end of the year” turns out to be “around Halloween” and not “after Christmas!” And I DON’T mean that in the sense of “hurry up and post something,” I mean that I hope everything sorts out and comes together beautifully, because I want it to be nice for you, and the makings of more archive to be proud of. Quality takes time. We can wait.
So. I read a LOT of webcomic and this one is one of the ones I kept. If I read a webcomic and can’t get into it, I stop. I am so glad I kept this one. What you do is amazing, dez. Also, meaningless rant past here…
I loved control alt delete I read the loss page and still loved it! But then it stoped. He ended the main storyline with my LEAST favorite trope, time travel
I got so mad. I kept reading for a while because I wanted to believe it could be redeemed but it could not.

The style (particularly the eyes) reminds me a a webcomic that ended years ago with me (knowing it had ended) wanting it to continue.
It followed the adventure (or should I say “Mythadventures”?) of a interdimensional wizard aprentice named Skeeve
It looks familiar because it’s by Phil Foglio, clipped from “What’s New (by Phil and Dixie)” which used to run in the Dragon. The Professor has studied the eyes of 5321 species of newt. “And they all need glasses!”

Valkeiper, it may please you to know that the Kaja and Phil Folgio (the comic artists you’re referring to) publish an ongoing web-comic called “Girl Genius”. It may also please you to know that the Skeeve books (which the Foglios illustrated the 1st-edition covers for, and “comic-ized” the 1st-and-a-half novel) are Robert Asprin’s Myth-Adventures, which contains 12 novels all together in the first series, and 8 additional novels and story collection co-authored by Jody Lynn Nye.
Wow, imagine not knowing who the Foglios are. Phil was a giant in the genre before he met Kaja. Togeher they are effectively the God and Goddess of science fiction and fantasy comics. Girl Genius has won so many Hugo awards Phil and Kaja formally withdrew from competition to give someone else a chance.
Recently discovered another series while randomly searching through LINE Stickers (Yeah, weird place to find it. There are stickers for it!). It’s called Lily and Marigold, and it has some SERIOUS Frivolesque vibes.

I currently read over 30 webcomics.
a couple update a strip daily and rarely miss (like Devils Panties) and a couple update once a month (like “Thunderstruck”).
I have dropped a few that stopped updating (“Scholl Spirits”) or just got plain unreliable (“Uberquest”).
I have NEVER kept any on my list that haven’t updated for more than 3 monthes.
I went to Top Web Comics to vote for Frivolesque, as is my custom, and Frivo was in the ‘Recently Updated Comics’ scrolling thingy.

That was the -only- time I have ever seen Frivo in ‘recently updated’.
I have lost faith in TopWebCom. It now displays in ‘updated’ a comic that last updated in Feb ’19.
It happened again! I guess it was because Dez swapped out the comic with Noelle and put this one back. TopWebCom is kinda dumb.
And again. TopWebCom is screwy.

Now that the connection is being intercepted by Cloudflare, the certificate is valid again.
Looks like it’s still on hiatus, but it has managed to rank 167th place, which isn’t too bad for a webcomic that hasn’t actively posted in months.
Frivo have the most faithful fans :) And deservs them ;)
I have read comics with longer hiatuses, but if it goes on for too long, even most of the fans will eventually stop checking regularly which means that even if the comic restarts, too few fans will notice and lowers Dez’s morale to continue, which leads up to the comic’s final demise.

I am still checking it out from time to time, but I wouldn’t wait too much longer if you don’t to have to rebuild up your readership from the start.
I think people will wait as long as they need until Frivolesque returns. When readers love something, the wait doesn’t really bother them.

The rack is because they are at the front of the mall glasses store, and it was one of the many details in Frivolesque that I liked a lot, because those are not random glasses but the ones the (at the time) main cast wear :)

On page 325 Laurence promised to explain everything after she’d come back. In a month that promise will have its 3rd anniversary, and the comic implied that Laurence might need some in-comic time to digest Marie-Lune. So…. could we please get an update on your future plans with the comic?

lol how is this webcomic still in the top 100 of Top Web Comic? Its been on hiatus for almost 3 years. Lol been checking once every couple months since the hiatus.
It’s still a good comic to archive binge, Dez has claimed he will continue this comic on occasion, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

In fanfiction, if a story hasn’t been updated in over 2 years, it is considered dead, and that law proves itself 99.9% of the time, it is now heading up to 4 years.
