Guest 6 – Experimentation, by Phil Muñoz
My sixth guest comic comes from Phil Muñoz, hailing from the Philippines. Phil is one of my earliest Internet friends, and he used to run his own webcomic back in the day called Roses & Thorns, on which I collaborated a few times. He was one of the first people I asked for a guest strip. I always enjoyed his stuff tremendously and I thought it would be awesome, for old times’ sake.
I hope he finds the time to draw comics again someday.
Poor Clementine. As always, things did not go as she expected.
Check out Phil Muñoz’s website, or his DeviantArt.
Is Marie attempting to shoot tapioca balls into Chem’s mouth?
Chem, huh? Chemicaline, that’s gonna be her new name.
And… I honestly have no idea what she’s trying to do here. XD
Phil checks the comment box sometimes. He could enlighten us. ^^
Originally, I just wanted someone to shoot tapioca balls like a blow dart at someone. In this context though, yes, Marie-Niege is definitely aiming for her mouth.
It does seem harder than you’d think. XD
That day Clementine got to cosplay Perdita.
And it is a nice enjoyable idea :)
Just to know, did you know how they were nicknamed or was it just good luck? ;)
Marie-Neige refers to them as “Bubble Tea”, so I just used that name. I have no idea why the Taiwanese linked tapioca balls to big breasts.
It seems we humans relate breasts with (melons, watermelons, coconuts, balloons, bags, airbags, bombs, jugs, cupcakes, pillows, racks, puppies, speed bumps, mounts, knockers…) uh… pretty much whatever :P
Just about everything else in that list is relatively big. The tapioca ball in bubble tea is quite bigger than the usual tapioca balls, but to be compared to breasts…
> In August 2012, scientists from the Technical University of Aachen (RWTH) in Germany analyzed bubble tea samples within a research project to look for allergenic substances. The result indicated that the products contain styrene, acetophenone and brominated substances. The report was published by German newspaper Rheinische Post and caused Taiwan’s representative office in Germany to issue a statement, saying food items in Taiwan are monitored.Taiwan’s Food and Drug Administration confirmed in September that in a second round of tests conducted by German authorities, Taiwanese bubble tea was found to be free of cancer-causing chemicals.
Good thing the ambassador of the Republic of China to Germany reads the local papers, and cought that. If they (whoever THEY are, some sort of “authority”?) hadn’t performed a second round of tests that provided completely different, but much needed, results, it could have really damaged the reputation of Taiwanese food. Conspiracy?
I can see how that would cause mixed feelings in the target…
Doh! It should have been Clem not Chem… my bad!
LOL she’s gonna be the next Toxic Avenger…
Why you asked? Now I just found out that what Marie-Neige are trying to put in Clem’s mouth are either her small “pink circles” or her “big breasts”.
I can’t look this strip the same way anymore.
sigh… intended to reply Plasma first comment
I just wanted to be sure. ^_^
Aww how disappointing U_U
What were you expecting?
I was expecting much as well… you know what ;)
But it doesn’t take away from the art that is quite lively :)
I thought they were going to try something exciting, together, if you know what I mean ;) Which is to say stuff like raw octopus bubble tea or something.
Poor Clem… so used and mis-used ^_^ If only they saw her the way she is ^_^ Somehow I’m sympathetic toward her “pain” and that strip makes it all the funnier.
She’s a carpet that’s so easily walked upon.
Orange shagpile not doubt! ^_^
I will not do that joke. I will not do that joke. I will not…
And finally we got to know why Marie-Neige prefer girls that wear glasses.
Yeah.
Take it from a guy who constantly ends up sticking stuff into his eyes by accident, people underestimate the level of eye protection glasses can give someone.
My favorite guest strip so far. Let the Yuri Shipping continue! Also, now we know who “shoots” and who “swallows.” xP
And like a man, she misses her target more often than not. :P
Hey hey hey…I’ve got perfect aim AND timing.
I think this one was quite obvious already. ;)
Bubble tea with Mary is a pretty high stakes situation. I applaud Clem for keeping it together.
Uh, DEZ, there is a typo in the last line of the comments: “Muñoz”.
Fixed. Damn. I can’t believe I missed that.
Even I missed that. My brain must have automatically shifted the ~ to the correct letter.
I know, I know, I am a freak about details… *sigh*
Well at least it did gave me a career in testing and proof reading :)
Hi Dez.
Can I ask how on earth you managed to format the comicpres/comiceasel cast page in such a lovely fashion? I’m bashing my head against mine, and as far as I can tell from the back-end, it’s immune to html or css code…
I could try to help… ^^;
Come talk to me on the Facebook page or something, I’ll see what I can do…
