314 – Childhood
You see your entire life flash in front of your eyes, they say.
Saki’s life doesn’t seem like it’s been easy.

I hope she has enough quarters left.
Does she have a baby sister she has killed to protect, or an older sister that has killed to protect her whose footsteps she has followed
A battle of back-stories.
Well, I suppose there are three options.
1. This is just Saki’s look-alike, some relative, or clone or whatever. Then she’s probably named Subaru.
2. This is also Saki (TIME PARADOX)
3. This is a metaphor, meaning that Saki was on her own since she was a child or something.
You guys always look too far into things.
Deconstruction of stories is what the kids do these days.
The kid looks a whole lot like Saki.
The baby has a mole next to her eye.
That’s quite interesting. Saki’s friends are giving her the will to live on, a certain pay-off for all those tea parties. But it also makes me want to re-read whole comic, now keeping in mind how cruel Saki’s life was before, and how she was struggling to blend in with normies.
Also I really like this new format, can we keep it, please? :)
Not if you want me to preserve my sanity, no.
And yes. Fun fact, the friends panel was a last minute idea. I’m glad I drew it.
Eh, sanity is overrated…

Can’t quit life when it’s finally getting good.
Wow, someone had a rough start, even if Saki was either the baby or the kid. At least she isn’t dead yet, just halfway there…
She’s the kid.
You can’t possibly remember your time as a baby, even when your whole life flashes before your eyes. ^^
The second panel looks like the anime scene from Kill Bill.
that’s because it is totally an homage to it.
Oh good, I’m not the only one who thought so.
Saki’s character was mostly inspired by Kill Bill. Before the movie, she was a cute fighting schoolgirl, but Kill Bill made me want to make her more badass, so she ended up borrowing traits from The Bride, O-Ren Ishii and Go-Go Yubari.
Panel 2 is indeed a homage to that.
dez I saw what you did there in panel 2.
Haha I thought it was obvious!
Hmm. Would playing dead at this point have been a good idea.
I’m guessing Phoebe still wants to ransack the house for information and might have assumed the fall would be fatal enough if there wasn’t any movement.
