I seen this in many isekai stories, Truck-kun hits the protagonist and s/he ends up in another world with magic, demi-humans and elves plus as a bonus, s/he gains some kind of superpower.
She meets Laurence and Mr. Toad!
My first reaction is the same as yours. Truck-kun hasn’t been showing up lately in Isekai stories. Looks like he was called to Canada.
Well she has black hair and eyes and as any isekai fan knows, traits like that are always indicators of specialness in the new world they end up in.
Japanese people are so unique in these fantasy worlds!

We Asians all look alike, you know. I’ve been mistaken for a Japanese person when I was in the USA. Even Asians can’t tell which ethnicity another is just by sight alone.

Or maybe Xue dies and Gaia swears to avenge her death by destroying all trucks in the world. With her bare hands.
As someone who has been hit by a lot of careless drivers violating traffic laws, and hit and run (I was on foot) 66% of the time (hit six times, only twice did a vehicle stop, the one time I was seriously hurt no one stopped), I can’t help but to cringe for poor Xue, and vow vengeance anyway.
I might have some PTSD related to vehicle versus foot traffic “accidents”.
destroyed all trucks, truck companies bankrupt, a lot of employee become jobless, no money for their family, food distribution becomes a lot harder, avenge for 1 kid, hundreds or maybe thousands or millions of children dies of starvation :D

Are you kidding? Either she ends up in one of Quebec City’s Bottomless Pit of a pothole and is never see again or like “Alice in Wonderland” falls down the pothole to end up wherever Mr. Toad and Mr. Frog reside.

My worry is that the next time Dez wants to remove a character from his roster, they’re going to have a wood-chipper diving accident.
I hope that Dez continues in the traditional trope of the poor girl is tied to a log and is sent downriver to the local sawmill… your idea is just so … modernly quick.

Really? I thought the hair was similar, but maybe it’s just because I haven’t seen them in a while, so I don’t quite remember what they look like.
I must admit I had that thought as well, before dismissing it.
The hair does look quite different.

I suspect that Dez is going to pull off a wonderfully “That can only happen in the Province of Quebec” Deus ex machina moment and have at least a slab of concrete fall from the undrawn overpass (If not the entire bridge!) and crushing the engine compartment, stopping the truck, and saving little Xue’s life…
And we already made jokes about Quebec’s infrastructure back in Comic #90…

It’s kinda hard to miss, it’s right between Saint-Vallier and Charest, not far from the Fanamanga. Also coincidentally, next to the entrance of a quite busy overpass.
