Always a good strategy.
In fact, that almost ended up being the punchline to the following comic, but I decided it’d be too cliche. :)
Not sure I’d recommend playing chess with bears in the first place.
But then the last time I played chess was in Spain with a Japanese guy. He beat me every time. I had him strung out a long while for one game, but I made a single screwy move and he wrecked me again. Then he went on to wreck the lecturers at it too, so I didn’t feel so bad.
Would it would have been out of character for the girl to wear a Canadiens jersey and the bear to wear the Bruins jersey just so that you could have a ton of NHL “Don’t poke the Bear(skin rug)” jokes? Or Cliche…
Han: Let him have it. It’s not wise to upset a Wookiee.
C-3PO: But sir. Nobody worries about upsetting a droid.
Han: That’s cause a droid don’t pull people’s arms out of their sockets when they lose. Wookiees are known to do that.
C-3PO: I see your point, sir. I suggest a new strategy, R2. Let the Wookiee win.
