“The show must go on…”
Happy New Year everyone!
Panel 3 and 4 took forever to draw. I really need to scale this dumb comic down.
Frederic is a strange, calculating individual. Stay away from him!
As always, if you like Frivolesque, don’t forget to comment or like the Facebook page!
Chloe seems usually happy in panel 3, should Clementine be concerned?
I like drawing Chloe like that. :)
Hopefully it’s a shopping high and not her planning something involving Clem that’s causing her to grin.
Chloe? Neither. She’s just happy to see her friends I guess. She’s not especially into shopping. Or girls. That’s Marie-Neige you’re thinking about. ;)
woops ‘-‘
She is a smiler.
They’re an unnerving sort. They don’t need a reason to be beaming.
They. Just. Are.
Yup!
I know people like that.
Oh my, Sir Frédéric’s powers are indeed most frightening.
Using people. It’s his number one skill.
I’m suddenly reminded of a bit from “Iron Man: Armored Adventures” where teenager Tony has had to leave his armor in a hidden location at his dad’s office (where he’s not especially welcome by the guy running it). Pepper comes up with a plan to get their advanced school there on a field trip so he can surreptitiously retrieve it. This plan involves a lot of different people doing exactly what she expects…and it works.
Tony: {forcefully} Pepper! If you ever turn evil… {resigned}…we’re in big trouble.
Pepper: {giggles} Yeah, I know. :-)
There’s… actually a cartoon where Tony Stark is a teenager? With an armor? Before he builds his suit in a cave in the middle east? Ugh.
Hopefully it won’t be any cheesier than James Bond Jr.
Eh, it was an “alright” series. Certainly better than some animated adventure series I’ve seen. Only lasted a couple of seasons, though.
@Dez: Totally different time-line with different origin and everything. That sort of thing used to annoy me (it wasn’t “right”), but I’ve become a lot more open minded since then.
Another severe departure from the original comic is “Big Hero 6”. Never read the comic (though I know certain elements of it), but I loved the movie.
Yeah, I haven’t read the Big Hero 6 comic either, but I can tell that the movie doesn’t look anything like it. Just like “Frozen” doesn’t seem to have anything to do with The Snow Queen. Sometimes I wonder why Disney even bothers to go that way instead of creating original franchises for the screen, considering they’re not keeping anything from the tales or the comics they decide to use.
As for that Ironman thing, I dunno. I mean, I’m okay with every version of every superhero story out there has its own continuity, but why do they always have to turn adult heroes into kids or teenagers for kids’ cartoons? I know that it’s fun to relate to your target audience, but kids can enjoy cartoons about adult characters too. I grew up on GI Joe and adult superhero cartoons, and I didn’t mind it. :P
The rest of them don’t have cars?
Flore has a scooter, I don’t know about the rest though…
Flore has a scooter, that’s about it. Liliane also mentioned having a car earlier.
I don’t think Frederic does, since he’s often seen taking the bus, but Ben probably has one too even though he’s got a shitty job. XD
Quebec City has a good public transportation system, many people I know don’t have cars. It’s a bit different than the small country town I grew up in.
Greater Vancouver has A public transit system, it is tolerable for going to work downtown or to certain malls, but not in general. One of my friends lives in a place where there are only shuttle buses which are tiny and only come once an hour on the weekend (and from my place it would take 40 minutes to get to the shuttle buses in the first place). Several movie theaters that we go to can realistically only be accessed by car etc. So it isn’t necessary like in small towns, but you’d still be cutting yourself off from large chunks of the city
Makes sense in a way:
Saki’s usually on missions, doesn’t need one.
Who ever gives Marie a license is insane and endangering the public.
Gaia probably can’t afford one plus she probably enjoys running more.
Flore has a scooter because she’s adorable and didn’t have a reason for anything beyond solo transportation.
Laurie may not exist or is some kind of super model?….don’t ask?
Chloe’s the responsible one and arguably the most normal so yeah she’d have a car. Probably doesn’t ask for gas money either.
I’m amazed at how well you know the characters already!
Hmmm, an interesting example of human manipulation. I think I might have to take notes…
Maybe you shouldn’t imitate him.
He’s a genius. Good Game Man !
I like how Frederic is calculating because somehow, he gives without thinking of a reward. He’s very kind in his ways, he seems to wait until a character struggles and then, he puts him/her face to face with a possibility to advance in life.
So in my mind, he’s one of the best characters of the series. Some people may see his behaviour as deranged or scary, but I think he could be misunderstood that way. He gently pushes people out of their comfort zone, he’s not throwing them under the bus. They still have the choice to go or not.
So yeah, Frederic’s a really amazing character. Almost zen-like.
Thank you always for all the nice comments, Esbé. :)
You know what would make me happy for the New Year ;)
I ship it :D
Who with who?
All with all.
Pansexual polyamory ftw.

“How can you be in love with her”
Cause love doesn’t care Clementine, totes doesn’t care, take my word.
I did fall for one or two lesbians in the past, and “HOW CAN YOU??” was pretty much the reaction I got from a few girls who were offended by the very idea.
Same here.
Nothing quite trying my luck with someone only for them to use it as an opportunity to come out of the closet.
You can’t really say anything when it happens… but when you’ve seen it happen three times, it starts to seem a bit suspicious. That Brazilian guy who had also been after Lily told me I should stop talking to women before I convert them all to lez-beans, and I’m not sure if he was serious or not.
*quite like trying … [how do words even go missing from sentences like that?]
D**ned close minded. Would they feel offended for a lesbian falling for a straight girl too? Bet no.
Ok, so I was wrong… Fred’s not that mean.. but he is annoying. :P
