eyes turning blue!
super saiyan transformation!
I believe this is the first time something undeniably supernatural happened in Frivolesque.
Nergal: “Am I a joke to you?”
I assumed he only existed in Florevision =)
I believe there were a couple of things that were undeniably supernatural, but it all depends on how great the characters’ powers of denial are. To the readers, a lot of things were undeniably supernatural, e.g. there was Gaia’s instant regeneration, followed by her sending her opponent flying. Also quite a few things revolving around Laurence, even if you exclude her time in the parallel universe, e.g. her mentioning Noelle to Chloé or Flore confirming that her friends can actually see Laurence or when she said that you can’t change character designs too much.
What about Saki cutting down so many thugs that probably held guns? The bear that broke Flore’s arm after losing at chess? Clementine’s ears ringing when they talked about her?
I assume there are both sci-fi things in Frivolesque (cyborgs, mutant supersoldiers, etc – everything that’s related to Titans and Furies) and mystic things like Nergal, reality-warping, mind-reading and so on – Laurence-related stuff. So yeah, Gaia’s abilities were clearly sci-fi stuff from the very beginning, and Saki’s fighting prowess is either the same or a comic exaggeration.
As for Laurence’s feats, she might have known about Noelle from Mimi, so it still does not count. And other things can be just words, Florevision, and coincidences. I’m not saying they definitely are, it’s just that in every other case there were alternative, rational explanations, but here there is none – you cannot change your eye color in a blink of an eye.
Ooooooh, so you’re
1. setting a higher bar for what is supernatural and
2. you meant the characters’ options to make excuses and not us readers when you talked about undeniability.
Then what about Laurence’s first appearance in Flore’s room? Even if the eyes are Florevision, Laurence just appeared right behind her. And what about the flashback with the bedtime story?

Laurence’s first appearance in Flore’s room – lockpicks, open windows, spare keys. I don’t really get Flore’s apartment plan, but perhaps there was another room Laurence was hiding in and then simply stepped from there.
Bedtime flashback is, well, a flashback. Maybe that’s how Flore remembered things with her wild imagination.
234-merry-noelle is also just words, I guess. People can be joking. To be honest, I never considered Noelle to be anything but a running non-canon joke. I mean, most of her strips aren’t even fitting in the timeline.
300-worry are also words. People can make conspiracy theories, that’s not supernatural.
I know I’m stretching things quite a bit, however, jokes, lockpicks and coincidences are still more probable than supernatural things, so until you have undeniable proof of supernatural, any other explanation should be preferred. Well, obviously that’s real-life logic, which shouldn’t really apply to a comic)
That is some weapons-grade denying you got going here.
Maybe Flore will deny the current strip in the future again, because of her wild imagination. ;-)
It can’t be a super saiyan transformation, it happened within just a few panels, and without looking chronically constipated. And her hair’s not standing upright either.
“Try looking into that place where you dare not look. You’ll find me there, staring back at you”.
You mean behind the sofa?
Don’t worry. Conroy will have this all sorted!
Hey Jhon,
from last weeks update I realized that my namesake isn’t in the tag cloud either and he had 2 appearances as well:

Also, @Dez:
Thanks for answering to me on page 300, but since I didn’t get a notification I didn’t see it until a few weeks ago. Then I tested your notification checkbox, but even if it is checked I don’t get any E-Mails whatsoever, no matter whether they’re responses to me.
If you ever find the time I’d like to have a box to notify me of responses to my posts. E-Mails that come for any response are impractical (just try it on grrlpowercomic :-) ). Disqus works fine, as I found out in supercellcomic, and you can even upvote comments.
NASA shirts everywhere! Even here in California they’re all over the place.
Even I have a NASA shirt, even though I’m half a world away from cape Canaveral)
I see them everywhere too! I’m glad it’s not just me that has noticed that. I’d like to get a cool bio-eng science shirt so I can join the party.
“It is by will alone I set my mind in motion…”
ok, mentat..
Hah, I hadnt’ even noticed the Dune reference in the hover-text. And of course the eyes.
Actually, wasn’t it the white of the eye turning blue in Dune? Sort of like how it can turn yellow if you have jaundice.
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee *ahem* I love those blue eyes. ^^
The eternal sentinel has awoken her powers.
Guess I was wrong when I thought that the main plot would have to wait for a few weeks. Let’s hope that Liliane can rein Marie-Lune in.
Also it did not escape me that Laurence didn’t say “our friends”. I’m rooting for her that she can say that eventually.
And lasty, I’m curious why she said that they all had to go. I mean, Liliane is a professional, but sending Flore into a deadly situation? She must’ve planned something already.
I wonder how tall Flore is? Or the rest of the cast for that matter. Has there ever been a height chart?
Omg.. it’s literately in the character bio’s. Silly me.
