Laurent was never that talkative of a man to begin with but there are things he really doesn’t want to discuss.

Dammit, Dez. This answers nothing but more questions!
I’m sorry…
MFW Laurence turns out to be a Lovecraftian monster.
At this point, it wouldn’t really surprise me.
Although I’m still partial to the imaginary friend made real theory. Not that one needs to exclude the other.
My best bet would be that the box is a device Flore used to create Laurence back when she was a kid, or unleash an entity who copied Flore’s appearance. Now that we know the box is an old thing from France, it makes sense why Laurence likes going to Europe and all that old things like black-and-white movies and art deco. Laurence is just old, like a hundred years or something.
My second-best bet would be that the box is capable of storing anything I’d like to get rid of, any scary thing you’d rather forget about, and Laurence was an ordinary child until someone trapped her into the box. And Flore was the only person who really remembered her. She tried to tell her family she had a twin, but they just assumed it was all her imagination. If that’s true, Frivo team might use the box as a last resort to trap the Furies, if the battle goes really bad.
In any case, at some point Laurence got trapped in the box until it was returned to Flore by Laurent. Laurence’s dream dimension is probably what the box looks like from the inside.

Erm. We’ll see what happens.
“My second-best bet would be that the box is capable of storing anything I’d like to get rid of, any scary thing you’d rather forget about…”
I like this notion. Now, how would you go about creating such a box?
You start with some spatial-temporal engineering to make a container that’s bigger on the inside than on the outside, then you cover the outside in wood.
The plot thickens… So Laurent is into bonzais?
It fits his character.
What an interesting exchange. You can dance around the subject as much as you like. A unique development should be savored. And since we already know the out-of-comic reason for why she was added there’s no “the longer the wait the bigger the reveal has to be” rule in my opinion. As for Laurence’s in-comic background, I’d say she’s something along the lines of an ancient being who took interest in the Frivo-verse and enjoys being a positive influence. Like a gardener.
Looks like Flore took after her father.
Also you might want to watch the tenses in panel 1. It’s “Where did it *come* from?”
Thanks for the comments, and I fixed my mistake! :)
You’re welcome. :-)
Laurent is escaping question, kinda reminds me of when I was 5 years old and I asked my Dad, where did a baby come from, and he told me to ask my mom and said that she has more information about that while my mom told me to ask my dad, claimed that my dad had better scores at school.
The plot thickens and I am loving it!
Haha you ain’t seen nothing yet!
I like to make boxes from random scraps of cardboard. I put something interesting inside and leave them somewhere for someone to find.
I hope you don’t been leaving them out in public spaces. Because people have a bad tendency these days to get worried at unattended parcels.
