295 – Death Row
It’s finally time for Chloe and Marie-Neige to go back to their respective hometowns. (Marie-Neige is actually from the city of Trois Rivières, while Chloé is from a smaller town called Yamachiche right next to it. Both being located roughtly one and a half hour from Quebec City.)
Marie really doesn’t seem to be looking forward to get home, though…

Huh, they’re from different towns? Where’d they meet as kids, then?
Chloe met Marie though their parents. Chloe’s mom and Marie’s dad (before he passed away) were both teachers at the same high school. Then they all went to that same high school together. (Quebec education system, so they were twelve as Freshmen. We have 6 years of elementary school and no middle school) Fred and Ben also met there.
The question remains, if this home visit going to be as bad as M-N seems to believe it is?
Farewell, Marie-Neige Saint-Vallier, Ice Princess Yuki. You’ve come a long way. It was an honour to know you. May you never be forgotten.
I feel sad for Marie-Niege. I get along with both of my parents, even if they don’t get along with each other (and that has caused some slight bit of strife in my own life, but I can deal with that).
Still, I somehow manage to remain friends and friendly with quite a lot of people on very differing sides of some very important things, all parties know, and all parties accept it, and so maybe I’m just the special one.
Still, I kinda want to give her a hug and let her know everything will be okay ultimately (and more importantly that it’s far better to face fears now than to have future consequences filled with regret).
Well…this could go any number of ways. Hopefully though it doesn’t go much further than a variation on the old “…get a haircut and get a real job”. Anything else could end up getting very ugly.
If she’s dreading it so much, I kinda wonder why she went. But maybe it would be worse if she didn’t go and her mother found out she had a reasonable opportunity to go.
