Although given Saki’s chosen line of work, its probably best that she does not smile often… Would not want to confuse her to “the Joker” from Batman, now would we?

My guess is that a very ancient version of Laurence is lying in a bed inside a white neoclassic bedroom somewhere, reaching out towards a black monolith that is at the foot of the bed…

Yes, but it is not a happy smile. More like a ‘jaw is locked up’ type of smile.
Smiling properly takes practice so remember to try and smile a little everyday. :)

This is why LOLCATS exist.
Scientists have shown that we use entirely different muscles to ‘fake smile’ compared to when we really smile. The ‘fake smile’ muscles (ones we can consciously control) are actually the same muscles we use when frightened. It’s actually a ‘fight or flight’ smile meant to bare the teeth and scare off attackers. Which is why it looks so terrifying.

And for the record, I don’t think I’ve ever seen Saki smile either.

meh. i’ve only seen a few episodes. So its hard for me to reference characters that aren’t in the main cast. looked her up and i can see where you’re coming from though.

I have the strong feeling that they should all have magical powers and fight crime or summat like that, but it keeps not happening. Iss prolly the box fulla Nergal, he’s gon give ’em the powers, right? They will take up aspects of his divine power, and act as his agents to show the world his cleansing fire?
Bit of a long setup tho, if that’s where this is goin’. Maybe I’m just catchin the wrong genre conventions offa this.
