The only ones I’ve played had at least a buzzcut. But I mostly play fantasy titles.
Bald Marine does sound amusing, though.
Yeah, buzzcut counts as “bald” to to me. XD
They were all the rage with video game characters at the turn of the decade. That dude from Force Unleashed. That dude from InFamous. That other dude from Resident Evil 6…
Yeah, that was a weird trend for a while. Starkiller (Force Unleashed), Nathan Hale (Resistance), and Cole MacGrath were barely distinguishable to me at times.
I have to admit, though, the words “Bald Marine” make my mind jump straight to Commander Indrick Boreale.
Not so weird. They are from an era of gaming where hair and cloth simulation was still computationally too expensive, yet visual quality was reaching a point where not having it, or having keyframed motion, would’ve looked out of place. A buzzcut is a simple do that doesn’t move.
Still looked annoying after the 3rd time. ;)
Isn’t that why all the women in LA Noire had their hair done up in buns and such?
