Technically, the word “lunatic” stems from “Luna”, one of the names associated with the moon. The insane were often said to be “touched by the Moon”… …so… …maybe?
Whenever someone swears I gotta check out the French version, so I can learn new words. ^^ Looks like Lune was called “Dirty Whore” in that version (and also added “I will…”). Also I believe that “beucoup” is missing an a. There were a few more things I noticed but I assume they’re colloquial speech?
– “et je joue avec en ce moment” (I was expecting a “lui” after avec)
– “Je un peu décue” seems to be missing the verb, namely “suis”.
But man, did Lune just use a chainsaw without getting blood on herself? It seems like she only used it on the girl’s arm, but still. Also it’s interesting that the girl survived getting shot in the chest. Given that blood came out of the hole I assume it’s not because of her armor, but because she can heal just as well as Gaia.
Poor Eleonore. That feeling when you realize that your desire for scoops/views/attention just set an assassin on your friend’s trail.
“joue avec en ce moment” is correct. It could have been ” joue avec elle en ce moment” (“elle” is the feminine of “lui”) but in this case, it can be implied.
Man, how could I leave so many mistakes? T_T
And like Vokhev said, “jouer avec” is correct by itself. I don’t need to add “elle”, it’s implied. (and yes, it’s “elle”, not “lui” because Rhea isn’t a dude as far as I can tell!)
And I realize this strip has terrible implications for Eleonore. :(
This is a complex one that seems very intuitive for us but I would have had a hard time explaining the rule for. In the case of what they call “indirect object pronoun”, lui is indeed used for both gender as in their example “Il lui fait le gâteau.” But for direct object pronouns they are gender specific as in “Il fait le gâteau pour elle.” It must seem very confusing for non-native speaker but these are two words with different functions that just happen to be written and spoken exactly the same. It’s kinda like “her” in English who’s used both as an object pronoun and a possessive adjective (“I see her”. vs “It’s her thing”) where masculine uses two different words: him and his.
Okay, thanks for the infos. Now I have another grammar question: I thought “lui” is for both genders and Google seems to agree. Is the indirect object “elle” a Canadian French thing?
Google actually disagrees. ”lui” can be for both gender when before the verb like in ”Il lui parle” (indirect pronoun). In the case of ”je joue avec”, it’s a direct pronoun so it’s elle ”je joue avec elle”. But yeah French Canadian would probably only say ”je joue avec”.
Little Miss Dangerous indeed. Our favorite comic has not just gotten serious, but downright grim. And what kind of person is Marie-Lune? Your average person doesn’t go hunting mutants (?), let alone kill them. And does Eleonore have any clue what she has gotten herself into? Inquiring minds need to know.
Yeah, her death may be temporary. Of course that may not be a good thing for her, as Marie-Lune might take the “remains” along with her for further examination.
Soooo…. How many people have already mentioned that Gaia and Rhea are both named after female Titans of Grecian mythology?
And how many people have already speculated about the significance of their naming theme? Any good theories people want to share? ^_^
It’s a secret, but I’ll tell you anyway: all green-haired people are named after Greek mythology titans) In discord channel Dez showed them all, I think.
I think it proves all of them are from the same experiment. And that Gaia never bothered to take an alias for conspiracy’s sake, poor thing.
Ah, that’s where all that extra information comes from.
Unfortunately discord doesn’t seem to like me.So I guess I’m out of luck there (even aside from how long ago all of that must have been posted).
I can’t help but notice Rhea made a fatal tactical mistake in panel three. She should have kept quiet. You can yell and curse at your opponent all you want after she’s dead, but tipping her off you’re still alive is not a good idea.
One option might have been to play dead and hope she’d leave. That has some risks, of course, she might instead decide to play some more with the chainsaw, for example. Another option would have been to quietly sneak op on her a garrote her with her own hair, or snap her neck.
Oh well, at least Marie-Lune is silly enough to turn her back on her victim thinking she’s dead. Maybe one of the others on the list will be better at exploiting that weakness.
Wait, where the heck did Marie-Lune pull that gun from?
(The site is in only in French right now but an English version will come soon. You can still order the English version of the books there. Be sure to specify.)

Green waifu #12! No!
Or #7, I don’t remenber. Damn you, white waifu #1.
Yes, it’s 7!
Is the Lune in Marie-Lune short for lunatic?
Technically, the word “lunatic” stems from “Luna”, one of the names associated with the moon. The insane were often said to be “touched by the Moon”… …so… …maybe?
And Lune is French for “Moon”. It’s all connected.
…
It is the point of no return
It kinda feels like it.

Eh, it’s hard to write YouTube comments without typos while trying to kill someone, I guess.

@comic content: I did not expect that I made you realize those terrible implications. XD

I knew there was something I didn’t like about her…
Mégane was right!

There’s a few other too. ;)

Welp. This sure has escalated.
I doubt Rhea saw that coming.
It has, and probably not.
I still doubt that Rhea’s dead. We don’t know limits of those GPX’s, maybe they have a regen factor so badass that it nearly gives immortality.
Also, maybe it’s time for girls to reveal their secrets, as the title says. Just to be safe.
Yeah, her death may be temporary. Of course that may not be a good thing for her, as Marie-Lune might take the “remains” along with her for further examination.
Magic tag cloud says …. “Ask again later”.
Erk!!
…
Is this the right place to mention the dangers of sharing information about people on social media without their permission…?
It sure can backfire spectaculously!
… Is that a chainsaw in the second panel? 0_0
It is!
And that also answers my earlier question about her very first comic appearance.
Honestly, though. Chainsaws are for fighting zombies, these are not zombies. And they’re not pokemon either, no need to catch them all.

And Tisiphone was one of the Furies.

But Gaia isn’t a Titan’s name, though.
According to the Greek mythology, Gaia is the mother of the Titans. Close enough.
Ah, that’s where all that extra information comes from.

Daniel here. Well that was a surprise. Wonder if her regeneration will be enough to bring her back?
Feel sorry for Eleonore too, not everyday you potentially work out you just aided some crazy lady “kill” the “sibling” of someone you exposed online…
Wonderful. Murders someone (successfully or not), then traumatizes a kid by thanking them for outing the victim.
Guess this white haired girl isn’t as nice as we thought she was…
If she thought she was at all…
So. The comic’s about murder now?
I didn’t expect it myself.
A chain saw is a very poor weapon. Good for terror though.
